Best time to drive through Chicago?

So I know there's not really any good time to drive through, but what's the least horrible time to do it? and what's the best route to take? I'm going from MN to Indiana for work and it will likely be around lunch time 12-1 ish when we hit Chicago, but we could leave earlier or later if it would help. Thanks

Are you talking about traffic time?? If it's about traffic usually by 2:30PM traffic starts picking up and dies down by 6:30.

I personally think the best times are before 7am, 10-11am, 1-3pm, and after 7pm

But it also depends on which expressways you'll be on...

Which roads would you recommend? Likely coming in through Madison, WI and then going out on Hwy 30 towards Ft. Wayne, IN.

Los G is right. I think morning is best. If you can't go before 7am, wait until 10am If you're coming from Madison to For Wayne sounds like you'll have to take 90-94 through

Yes 90/94 for the main route but aren't there a few different ways to get through the actual city of Chicago? Just looking at a map I see 355 and 294 as well but I don't know which of the 3 would be best. anyone? thanks guys

Thanks everyone. Just an FYI we ended up taking 294 just after the airport all the way down to 80, both ways and it went pretty smooth.
