Ok, does anyone have a magic Jack? If so do you like them. I am thinking about getting one. Actually to take and leave in Mexico the next time we go. From what I have read it should work. Activate it here in the US and you get a US number, then you can plug it into a computer Mexico and if you call the local US number, it should ring in Mexico. I'm think if this actually works it would save us a lot on phone cards. Also when I am in Mexico, I can use it to call my parents.
Also, has anyone tried this with skype???

I haven't heard about a magic Jack but it sounds cool! (From the name I thought it would be a cleaning product or something!) haha. We just signed up for Skype unlimited calls to Mexico and the US/Canada for 5 dollars a month!!! That is crazy considering we were paying like 40 a month or more for calls to those places. I am not sure if it includes Veracruz, but you could check it out!

Magic Jack is just like a little flash drive that you can plug a phone into. You only pay $20 a year. From what I can tell you can't call mexico with magic jack, but like I said I think if I leave it down there and call it from my cell phone, I would be charged just like making a US call. I'm going to check out skype. They have never covered Mexico before. Did they just recently add it?

Nope its just DF, Monterrey, and Guadajara. Its .11 cents a min for the rest of Mexico.

opps its 2 cents to land lines and 20 to cells a minute if you pay the 5.99 a month fee.

I have the magic jack and it's okay. I don't really use it because you have to have the computer on. But the times I have used it, it worked like a regular phone. I don't know many people in Mexico, so I never called anyone there that has a magic jack. But that was the idea. If I take my jack to Mexico I connect and can call anywhere in the U.S. Free. Sorry I never tried it though. When my in laws get Internet, I'm sending it to them.
