    what happens after waiver approved?

So what actually happens when a waiver gets approved that has been backlogged?
I hear about an "open appointment" and don't know what that is.

    July 29, 2006-got married
    August 2006-filed I130 petition
December 2007-received first appointment letter for Ciudad Juarez
January 21 2008-1st appointment, visa was denied b/c of lack of financial evidence(which was wrong, because they don't know their numbers apparently) and unlawfully present in US
February 6 2008- appointment for additional financial evidence
February 25 2008- I601 waiver appointment which showed lack of extreme hardship ( a 5 page paper with more than 50 pages supporting evidence) but would further review the case

You wait some more!! Your file has to move from DHS back to the consulate, then the consulate has to enter the approval into their system. Once that happens, they generate an open appointment letter stating that you can go any M-THurs. 7-9am and pick up the visa. Takes 3-6 weeks for this to happen. I am waiting on it right now.
